Full Time/Part TimeFull Time, Benefit Eligible Salary$13.27 - $15.64/hourlyJob DescriptionThe Department of Computer Science at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) in Rolla, Missouri is seeking a highly organized, detailed-oriented person with strong people and communication skills, to provide routine administrative and office support that includes a broad range of duties as described below.This person needs to be able to multi-task in a busy office environment, remain at all times courteous and professional, organized and complete assignments according to priorities, recognize and solve typical problems that occur, evaluate and select solutions from established options/procedures, impact the team through the quality of the services or information provided, communicate through regular exchange of information and have basic accounting skills
  • Answer phone and direct calls; greet visitors, students, and faculty; direct and/or refer individuals to appropriate destination, provide general information, distribute mail.
  • Secretary duties, including committee meeting minutes, tracking, and routing forms
  • Department and faculty supply and equipment ordering, take care of local purchasing and pickup
  • Be responsible for department scheduling, including campus visits; discover days, open houses, and visitor/job candidates
  • Assist with travel arrangements for visitors and students
  • Process faculty requests for textbooks, collect class syllabi for centralized posting
  • Maintain office supply inventory
  • Organize departmental events and handle catering
  • Take care of copying, filing, and scanning
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Work under general supervision, as needed, and manage own workload

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in multiple computer applications, including Microsoft Office. Ability to type 35-40 WPM.
