The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a FUSE Student Researcher - Archaeology on the Dahlonega campus. The Archaeological fieldwork technician will assist in archaeological data collection and interpretation at a site located in north Georgia under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator. The research assistants will join the FUSE program to conduct focused and meaningful research, scholarly and creative activities alongside a faculty researcher from May 31 - July 23, 2021.Responsibilities
- Archaeological fieldwork including hand excavation, mapping, and screening for artifacts.
- Archaeological laboratory work including washing, labelling, and sorting artifacts.
- Using critical thinking to record and interpret observations on-site and in the laboratory.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current UNG student not graduating before December 2021.
- Successful completion of ANTH1102 or ANTH2030.
