Job Description:

The RSM is a part-time position with clerical responsibilities that work with and support the function of the Residence Life and Campus Living Conduct staffs. An Office Assistant may be directly supervised any professional member of the Residence Life Staff Team, dependent on the vacancy.
The Resident Service Manager is expected to fulfill the following general roles and responsibilities:

•Supervision of student staff at the Neighborhood Service Office including hiring, training, scheduling.
•Office Management including ordering supplies, forms and uniforms
•Team Building including planning and implementing formal and informal activities that promote a sense of teamwork
•Administration including recordkeeping, office organization, developing procedures and forms, assisting with daily operations
•Training including planning and implementing activities that enhance the overall training experience
•University and departmental representation including assisting with special events and presenting ECU and Campus Living in a positive light.
•Other duties as assigned

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.):

The Resident Service Manager (RSM) must be a full-time upperclassmen (12- degree credit hours) or graduate student (9 -degree credit hours) at East Carolina University. He/she must have lived on the ECU campus at least one semester and may have worked with Campus Living or be enrolled in the Hospitality Management Program or MBA program. He/she must have a minimum overall and semester 2.5 GPA and a clear judicial record. Because availability is essential to this position, the RSM should not be employed in another paid position. The NSM must approve all internships and work outside of class in writing prior to signing this contract. All on-going volunteer work or leadership positions should be discussed with and approved by the NSM prior to employment. The RSM position may qualify as a 6-hour internship with the Hospitality Management program.
