The Program Coordinator will autonomously manage day-to-day activities of clinical research projects performed within the in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine’s Clinical Research Administration/ Medicine/Gastroenterology Gastrointestinal Section of the Department of Medicine.

Responsibilities include: evaluates protocol feasibility, determines availability of a diversified subject population; develops timelines for conducting and completing research; submits regulatory documents; reviewing consent with prospective patients, enrolling patients into studies, performing research-related procedures; provides technical leadership and consultation to co-workers; develops research/scientific model concepts to effectively conduct simultaneous studies in the area of gastroenterology; executes experimental protocols for assigned projects; performs all phases of research activity including enrollments and IRB submissions; assists in developing systems for data collection and management; requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in a specific area or discipline; has broad grasp of practices, precedents, theory, and principles of clinical research; assists in protocol assessment/planning activities; assists with grant writing, protocol development, IRB submission; collects, records and enters data; manages databases; keeps thorough historical records of experiments performed and data collected; obtains informed consent from research participants; analyzes and interprets results of experiments and assists in report preparation; performs study related procedures including blood drawing, EKG recording; prepares and submits studies to the IRB in a timely manner to ensure regulatory compliance. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and experience:

Bachelor’s Degree and at least four years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

*Working knowledge of all applicable computer software.

*Demonstrated ability to manage projects.

*Demonstrated management skills (including planning, negotiation, and communication skills).

*Knowledge of University research policies and procedures.

*Knowledge of financial and budgeting principles.

Preferred:

*Previous experience in GI research helpful.

 

This is a grant funded position.

This position requires a background check.
