Description
The Risk Management Insurance Coordinator will assist in the management of the University's insurance and self-insurance programs and will provide general risk management support to various internal stakeholders throughout the UT System.

This is a non-exempt position with a salary range of $42,000 - $46,206 per year. Remote work is not available for this role.

Duties and responsibilities of the Insurance Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for the annual preparation and compilation of specific insurance applications and documents for policy renewals.
  • Reviews each policy for coverages, limits, exclusions, endorsements, completeness and assesses any changes to determine impact and request clarification from brokers.
  • Prepares and updates policy summaries of all policies and renewals.
  • Maintains current insurance policy expiration list.
  • Completes initiation and review of future insurance initiatives as they develop and provide recommendations as to changes of existing policies as well as new insurance purchases.
  • Maintains Insurance and Bonding Guidelines
  • Maintains Certificate of Insurance database to keep track of incoming COIs, request changes in the COIs as needed, and ensures renewal COIs are obtained when required.
  • Reviews and updates annual property schedule as required by the state. 
  • Oversight of the Camper's Insurance Program.
  • Review of leases, contracts, certificates of insurance and agreements to ascertain if insurance language and policy limits are acceptable and to ensure the University's liability is minimized and make recommendations as needed. 
  • Manages the Risk Management website including editing, writing and publishing.
  • Administrative duties including payroll reporting, departmental deposits, maintaining office supply purchases, account reconciliations, travel requests and reimbursement reports, mail processing and distribution, handles and processes all incoming problems/requests/inquiries for customers.
  • Provides clerical support for Director.


Qualifications
Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and one year of insurance and/or risk management experience is required. Five years of insurance and/or risk management may substitute in lieu of a degree. Relevant certifications in insurance and/or risk management (ARM, CRM, CPCU) are preferred. 

The Insurance Coordinator must possess knowledge of insurance language and policy limits required for contracts and demonstrate the ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance policies. The position requires a solid background in office technology including knowledge of computers and software applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe, WordPress, and related programs and technologies. The successful candidate must possess the ability to work and make decisions independently and to multitask effectively. Additional attributes should include excellent communication skills, a positive, service-oriented attitude, and a strong work ethic.
