Job Description Summary: This position is 100%, 12 month, classified position
DEFINITION
Under general supervision, the position assists the supervising manager in organizing the day to day operations of the District's Transfer Center. The position acts as a liaison between universities and the District to provide transfer information and to students. The position also is responsible for developing and conducting workshops that will assist students in navigating the transfer process into four-year institutions as well as collaborating campuswide to further develop support services for students with transfer goals and objectives.


Essential Duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Transfer Center Duties:
Oversee and implement transfer programs in conjunction with Student Services division and outside agencies; serve as liaison for program university requests; provide comprehensive transfer information to transfer and potential transfer students;
Assist in the coordination of Transfer Center operations; plan, facilitate and implement transfer workshops regarding applications, personal statements, financial aid, concurrent enrollment and other transfer documents and functions; oversee and implement other educational activities including field trips for participants; design and oversee production and promotion of major Transfer Center events. Serve as liaison between the Transfer Center, the College, local educational institutions, community organizations, student support programs and other organizations regarding Transfer Center functions; provide information to agencies regarding student transfer progress and processes. Serve as a technical resource to students, staff, faculty and outside agencies regarding transfer processes, procedures and requirements; identify and assist transfer and potential transfer students; respond to inquiries regarding assigned activities; provide assistance with the completion and submission of applications and related documents; provide counseling references to students as appropriate.
Participate in retention and outreach activities to increase participation and effectiveness of the Transfer Center; conduct classroom visits, orientations, presentations, workshops and other activities to generate awareness of program operations, processes and services; attend and assist with community events and serve as representative of the Transfer Center; communicate with outside agencies to plan and implement events; update and upload content to the Transfer Center website.
Train and provide work direction to student workers. Prepare and maintain a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records and files related to personnel and assigned activities. Communicate with other administrators, personnel and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts and exchange information. Operate a computer and assigned software programs; operate other office equipment as assigned; drive a vehicle to conduct work as assigned.
Career Services Support Duties:
In coordination with the Career Center and the Counseling Department, be a liaison for the Fremont campus to provide career exploration services. Assist the Career Center and the Counseling Department with the coordination of career services and resources on the Fremont and Newark campuses. Assist students with exploring different careers and linking students with resources at the Career Center, the Counseling Department and other community organizations. In collaboration with the Career Center and the Counseling Department, conduct campus outreach regarding career services; conduct classroom presentations, informational meetings, career fairs, and other career services related events; develop marketing materials and presentations; respond to inquiries and provide information regarding available career services; attend and assist with other recruitment, professional development as required; utilize social media tools to increase student awareness of available career services. In coordination with the Career Center and the Counseling Department, coordinate and implement workshops for student job seekers; conduct job search workshops and presentations; generate and maintain workshop curriculum; evaluate training curriculum to assure effectiveness and diversity of training techniques and learning styles; generate specialized workshops for college vocational programs. Attend and conduct a variety of meetings as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: DUTY STATEMENTS
1. Provides information to students regarding transfer processes such as, but not limited to, university requirements to transfer, transcript deadlines, and the type of courses typically required for transfer to universities;
2. Work collaboratively with the Transfer Center Director;
3. Organizes in-person and virtual field trips to universities;
4. Develops methods to assess student needs in relation to transferring to universities and career exploration;
5. Recommends the development of programs and workshops;
6. Develops workshops, events, activities, and programs to assist students in applying for transfer into universities;
7. Meets with students to discuss transfer needs, major and career exploration, and to refer students to District resources that can provide support;
8. Conducts presentations, trainings, and workshops;
9. Conducts outreach activities as a representative of the Transfer Center;
10. Creates and maintains data resources to develop reports to make proposals and recommendations to improve transfer resources, assists in maintaining data to track student progress in meeting transfer goals and establishes detailed records of student participation for outreach and retention opportunities;
11. Updates the Transfer Center website and maintains online documentation on dates and timelines to increase transfer rates and transfer success;
12. Schedules visits from university representative to the District;
13. Schedule meetings for students, university representatives and events;
14. Markets departmental services on various platforms;
15. Coordinate multiple calendars internally, and the public calendar on the Transfer Center website;
16. Effectively engage and support historically underrepresented groups by addressing issues of equity and improving culturally responsive service-oriented practices;
17. Works in collaboration with the department on the Guided Pathways initiative and Student Equity and Achievement goals where it pertains to transfer success;
18. Train and provide work direction to student workers;
19. Communicate with other administrators, personnel and faculty to coordinate activities and programs, resolve transfer center related issues and conflicts and exchange information; support staff and faculty in providing success and student services information at a variety of on-campus locations;
20. Develops and maintains data on student progress in meeting goals for transfer;
21. Performs related duties as assigned.

1. Apply knowledge of transfer requirements to advise students of various transfer deadlines and develop work shops around transferring topics such as, but not limited to, the processes for applying to specific universities, personnel statements, and District transfer days;
2. Use content management software to update the departmental website;
3. Use marketing strategies to promote workshops, programs, and support services;
4. Use knowledge of financial aid and community college matriculation processes to develop awareness of important deadlines as it relates to matriculation into universities;
5. Use general office software and equipment to develop work schedules, presentation materials, reports, aggregate data, organize events, and communicate with District staff.
ABILITY TO
1. Effectively use data to inform the development workshops, programs, and trainings;
2. Effectively maintain a valid class C Driver’s license;
3. Ensure that all communications and departmental services are sensitive to and exhibit an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students;
4. Develop and maintain collegiate relationships with District staff, faculty, the community and external agencies to develop student support services,
5. Assist student with resources to help them research universities independently
6. Organize departmental operations, and develop method to extract data and produce resource reports;
7. Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.


Education and Experience: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of work experience related to higher education;
• Must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices.
