Position Location:  This position is a combination of remote and on-site.  The Associate Dean must be able to be on-site at the Clarksville, TN campus 2-3 days per week, dependent upon business needs, and can work remotely the remainder of the week.

 

Position Summary:  The Associate Dean manages the faculty hiring, onboarding, training and professional development program to ensure quality instruction, compliance and customer satisfaction of the ground and online campus.  The Associate Dean also assists with the day-to-day educational objectives, plans, and programs of both the ground and online campus, as well as provides support to ensure retention and persistence objectives are met.   

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Manages the development and maintenance of faculty training and professional development including in-service       training
  • Conducts regular classroom evaluations and analyzes survey results and other data to determine faculty training         and development needs
  • Assists in the recruiting and selecting of education faculty as needed.  Coordinates onboarding and orientation for       new faculty
  • Responsible for maintenance of faculty files
  • Coordinates faculty teaching assignments/term schedule
  • Guides faculty to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures as well as government and               accrediting agencies
  • Trains academic faculty in the use of the student information system and learning management system
  • Participates in orientation, graduation, PAC meetings, and other campus events and activities.
  • Assist the Dean of Academic Affairs with retention and attrition goals.
  • Collaborates with other departments and functional areas to deliver an optimal student experience from enrollment  through graduation.
  • In the absence of the Dean of Academic Affairs, supervises the activities of campus Academic Affairs Department
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the school catalog and institution polices and best practices.

  •  

    Education:

    • Doctorate degree required

     

    Experience:

    • 5+ years of progressive academic administrative and operational leadership in higher education
    • 3+ years of demonstrated successful academic leadership experience within an online educational environment
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of staff, faculty and students

    • Ability to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends

     

    Physical and Mental Requirements:

     

    Physical Requirements:  This job requires normal physical mobility, including the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.  Normal hand-eye coordination; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and lift up to 40 pounds, is also required.

     

    Mental Requirements:  This job requires the ability to read, recall, write and understand information.  This job also requires the ability to work under moderate pressure and to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

     

    Environment:  This job is normally performed in a clean, well-lighted, heated and cooled office area/classroom
