    Under the supervision of the Operating Room Supervisor and/or Nursing Staff and Physicians, assists in the technical support of clinical activities of the Operating Room. Regularly assists all customers of the Operating Room arena in a professional manner. Will assist in the care for patients as identified in the unit’s Scope of Care and assist in the care of the patients in the following stages of the life cycle: infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.


    1.    High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

    2.    Previous experience transporting patients or experience as an Anesthesia Tech required.

    3.    Must complete Heartsaver course within probationary period.

    4.    Anesthesia technician certification preferred.   

    5.    Physical requirements:

    a.    Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable.

    b.    Ability to hear (with or without aides).

    c.     Ability to orally communicate.

    d.    Good manual dexterity.

    e.    Ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally.

    f.      Ability to stand, walk frequently.

    g.    Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and kneel frequently.

    h.    Ability to perform CPR.

    Working Conditions:The working environmental conditions include routine exposure to hazardous and infectious materials, wastes, equipment and cleaning/disinfecting solutions and routine handling of infectious and biologically contaminated material. The Operating Room is a high stress environment with physical demands such as heavy lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
