TheBenefits Specialist is responsible for performing specific functions related tothe activity of the University of Toledo benefit programs. This position counselsemployees regarding routine benefits programs, including health care, retirement,insurance and disability. This position conducts individual orientationsessions and group benefits reviews and maintains benefits records and preparesnecessary documents for implementing coverageQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in Business, Human Resources or a field closely related to healthcare benefits.Requires three to five years’ experience with benefits, retirement and group health insurance programs.
Direct experience with benefits, retirement, and FMLA required. Knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and State of Ohio benefit rules.
Demonstrate proficiency with personal computers, and experience using word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Communication and other skills:
- Demonstrate proficiency in both written and verbal communications.Must possess superior interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
