  • Position Description:

    This person will assist in collection and processingsamples related to an external grant-funded project and is therefore essentialto the successful implementation of this project.  This person will be entirely supported byexternal grant dollars.

    Qualifications:

    Education/experience/licensing:
    BS in Environmental or Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Fisheries, or related field preferred. Highly qualified undergraduate with applicable majors also acceptable. Must have knowledge of basic fish and invertebrate ecology and limnology.
    Must be able to assist with sampling Great Lakes with supervision.
    Knowledge of water chemistry or limnology, ability to collect and analyze samples.
    Some experience in the operation and data processing from standard fisheries and limnological gear.
    Knowledge of standard data storage and analysis packages, specifically Excel and Access.
    The person in this position must work well as a team member, sometimes under uncomfortable field conditions (e.g. cold, heat, rain).

    Communication and other skills:        
    Data manipulation in Excel and Access
    Ability to work as a teammember in adverse field conditions
