Admission Manager, Ancilla College of Marian University

Job Description:

Working closely with the Chancellor and Marian University’s Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Admission Manager promotes Marian University’s Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by promoting the strengths and distinction of the college to prospective students and developing an enrollment system that attracts the maximum number of new, re-entry and transfer students in line with ACMU’s strategic plan and admissions goals. In addition, the manager is responsible for supervising day-to-day and personnel operations in the Admissions Department, such as recruiting activities, electronic and print communications, hiring and training staff, budget management, research and enrollment statistics and strategic & marketing plans, in addition to developing and maintaining strong relations with superintendents and high school administrators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan Intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Develops, implements and manages all admissions goals, focusing on the potential for growth of prospective students.
  • Actively leads implementation, execution and review of recruitment plan for securing students, to include accountability reporting.
  • Trains admissions counselors and staff for execution of visits/tours for prospective students and parents, including necessary training related to federal, state and institutional financial aid programs.
  • Meets with community/civic representatives, middle & high school administrators/counselors, leaders of teen organizations and prospective applicants to promote Ancilla College of Marian University.
  • Coordinates and attends recruiting efforts by proactively securing visits and speaking engagements at schools, community organizations, religious teen organizations, public relations events and other events or venues prospective students and parents gather.
  • Manages admissions requirements; coordinate recruitment efforts; organizes and serves at college recruiting events.
  • Strategic leader of engagement with prospective students and parents via phone, mail and personal visits, ensures for continued contact via email, mail and phone call, as appropriate.
  • Composes/submits/manages yearly admissions budget which encompasses lead generation, enrollments, marketing, & staffing components.
  • Executes weekly, and monthly reports of admissions activity, reviews monthly reports with the Chancellor, as well as provides quarterly reports for Board of Trustees meetings.
  • Oversees, in conjunction with the Chancellor, Marian University’s Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Marketing Department the marketing collateral and pieces to non-enrolled inquiries including campaigns & direct mail brochures, other mailings, fliers and other marketing supplies and strategies.
  • Develops and maintains professional and outcome-based relationships with ACMU campus departments, professional college recruitment organizations and other universities / colleges.
  • Ensures compliance with all school and ethical standards, and compliance with all federal, state and accreditation requirements.
  • Produces and presents reports to the Chancellor regarding recruitment successes and challenges, and recommendations for enhancements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • At least 5 years previous experience in a successful admissions program, 2-year college setting preferred
  • A working familiarity with Noel Levitz Enrollment Management procedures
  • Experience with Student Information System
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and students
  • Superior organizational and problem resolution skills
  • Power user MS Office
  • Knowledge of accounting and statistics is advantageous
  • Knowledge of SIS and/or CRM and related hardware and software packages including reporting required
  • Ability to work extended hours (which will include evenings and weekends), in order to meet business objectives.
