Description of Work:

The Cohen lab studies how lipids (fats) move within and between cells. We use advanced microscopy techniques including live-cell imaging, multispectral imaging, and superresolution imaging. A lab technician is needed to perform cell biology research. Responsibilities will include lab management duties and independent research studying lipid trafficking and organelle dynamics. Research tasks will include culture of mammalian cells (e.g., primary rodent astrocytes and neurons, human induced pluripotent stem cells), molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and data analysis.

Education and Experience:

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field. At least one year of lab experience. Experience with molecular biology, biochemistry, mammalian cell culture, light microscopy, and/or data analysis. Strong team-work and organizational abilities are essential.
