Job Description:

Maintaining a quality, comfortable, and safe environment for students, faculty and staff by utilizing knowledge and experience as a master mechanic qualified in all trades, providing timely response in support of the college mission. Inspection and evaluation of contractors work performance. Exercise independent judgment in applying prescribed policies, procedures and technical knowledge in these areas. Is considered college technical advisor on electrical matters . Maintain electrical equipment and systems, correct problems,and perform new electrical installations in compliance with National Electrical Codes.
Essential Functions:
•Performs main electrical installation work and preventive maintenance. Performs maintenance and repair, plus trouble shooting of electrical problems. Orders and keeps an inventory of electrical parts. Completes work orders in a timely manner and records information in the computer management system.

Special Assignments:

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications:

Required KSAs:

• Experience in several trades, primarily electrical. • Ability to work from heights and ladders. • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form. • Ability to lift 75 lbs on a regular basis. • Ability to work in both hot and cold weather for long periods of time. • Able to participate in snow removal & other emergency duties. • Be able to work any required shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Driver’s license with insurable driving record. • High School graduate or equivalent.• Experience working with blueprints, diagrams or sketches. • Journeyman trade license or equivalent. • Experience with residential and commercial wiring.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AAS Electrical Technology
• Prior experience in Educational facility.
• Experience or training related to contract preparation, codes, and procedures.
• MASTERS license certification.
