Position Title:

Adjunct Lecturer of Modern Languages & Literatures Italian Studies

Position Summary:

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at William and Mary seeks applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach three sections of Italian in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the Fall the instructor will teach one section of Elementary Italian 1 and one section of Accelerated Italian II, and in the Spring the instructor will teach one section of Elementary Italian II. Candidates must have experience in language pedagogy, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and, at a minimum, an M.A. in Italian studies or related field. Ability to use instructional technology plus native or near native proficiency in Italian and English is required. Please submit curriculum vitae, letter of application including statement of teaching philosophy, and contact information for three references to the Italian Search Committee. Review of applications will begin May 5, 2021 and continue until position is filled.

Required Qualifications:

Experience in language pedagogy, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and, at a minimum, an M.A. in Italian studies or related field. Ability to use instructional technology plus native or near native proficiency in Italian and English is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching accelerated Italian.
