Position Summary

The Temporary Manager of Marketing and Communications is responsible for maintaining implementation of GSPPs strategic communications as well as managing logistics and operations related to internal and external communications. This role requires effective use of a wide range of platforms and media to engage GSPPs diverse range of audiences. The manager will be responsible for updating the website, using social media, email, newsletters, and other creative means to effectively share information with students, staff, faculty, alumni, donors, advisory boards and councils, and other community members. This role will work closely with the Director of Enrollment and other staff to maintain GSPPs recruitment and marketing strategies for prospective students. In addition, this role may be required to manage a small team of student employees who will help execute tasks related to website updates, social media, mailing list management, and newsletter creation. However, responsibility lies with the Marketing and Communications Manager for the day-to-day operational activities of GSPPs internal and external marketing and communication work. This position will report to the Dean of the Graduate School of Professional Psychology.

This is a temporary, non-benefited position expected to work up to full time (37.5 hours per week). This position will likely start part-time in early May 2021, ramp up to full-time June-August, and then end in early to mid-September 2021. The general expected hours are 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend and evening hours as needed to support events or urgent communications matters. This is a temporary, non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or significant progress toward completion of a degree.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, engagement, public relations, or donor relations, including in non-profit or community-based organizations as well as corporations.
  • Experience producing written and digital marketing materials and communications for a wide range of audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on topics related to mental health.
  • Experience in a higher education setting or other complex organization.
  • Proven experience successfully collaborating within flexible, non-hierarchical teams.
  • Experience with graphic design.
  • Experience promoting issues related to diversity and inclusive excellence.
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative suite and other relevant software.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with occasional evenings and weekends depending on events schedule or time-sensitive media or communications needs.

Hourly Range
The hourly range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00.
