Description:

The Ding Lab in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Florida is looking for a self-motivated postdoctoral scientist who has a strong interest in natural product biosynthesis, new enzymology, and synthetic biology research.  The Ding lab is part of the UF Center for Natural Products, Drug Discovery and Development (CNPD3, https://cnpd3.pharmacy.ufl.edu) that embraces all aspects of natural products research from discovery, biosynthesis and chemical synthesis, assay development, screening and target identification to drug development.


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications (must be met at the time of application):

Candidates must have completed all degree requirements except the dissertation or be enrolled in an accredited PhD, or equivalent international degree.

Additional Qualifications (must be met by start date):

PhD (or equivalent international degree) required by the appointment start date. The candidate may have no more than three years of post-degree research experience by the start date.

Preferred Qualifications (must be met by start date):

  • Demonstrated expertise in the fields of natural product biosynthesis and bioinformatics;
  • Demonstrated expertise in synthetic biology applications;
  • Self-motivation and independence;
  • Being able to multi-task with multiple projects and keeping pace in a dynamic research environment;
