The Director of Graduate Career Education will work with the Director of Graduate Career Services to develop and deliver innovative and effective graduate level career education and become a collaborative partner in career management for multiple assigned student populations including the Master of International Business program. The Director’s primary duties include but are not limited to: providing 1:1 coaching and support to graduate students; creating and delivering effective programming and services to assigned populations of students; strategizing with the students and colleagues to provide key guidance on all areas of career management; facilitate job placement for assigned students; maintain accurate, organized records of student job search activities and outcomes and communicate that information to supervisors.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):
Master’s degree in Student Services or related field and 4 years related experience in student services program area.Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of marketplace for graduate business students is critical with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a corporate recruiting or job placement function or 3-5 years of experience working in a college career center. Experience working with a diverse student population is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to write professional resumes along with teaching, coaching or advising experience is desired.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentations skills, and coaching skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and an appreciation of diversity of opinion and though.
Ability to follow directions and prioritize assignments.
A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
Professional attitude, good judgment, and discretion in working with students, faculty, and administrative units within DMSB and across the university.
Knowledge of international marketplace and the relevance of graduate business degrees in the marketplace.
Knowledge of US employment and immigration laws relevant to student visas.
International travel or work experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
