Description
Child Care Resource and Referral Quality Coach - East TN Region

Regular Full-time, Market Range 09

The CCR&R Quality Coach provides training, coaching, technical assistance and support to DHS licensed childcare directors and educators as well as families to improve the quality of childcare. In addition, the Quality Coach works in collaboration with community agencies directly involved with families.                                                                                    

Counties served in the East region include Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Sevier, and Union.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works collaboratively with other individuals and community agencies that provide technical assistance and training to childcare educators and families.

Helps childcare agency directors and educators determine needs, develop objectives, provide resources, implement strategies, and monitor progress toward meeting the highest quality standards.

Demonstrates ability to support the social and emotional development of children including developmentally appropriate practices and positive behavior guidance.

Works cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis

Prepares, designs and implements a training plan for delivery of research-driven professional development for childcare educators and families. Training development and execution requires strong background knowledge of all areas of child development and early childhood education

Attends all trainings and meetings required. Prepares, completes, and submits all required reports and online data entry in a timely manner

Treats all information about childcare agencies and clients in a confidential and professional manner

Participates in local, state and agency sponsored events or meetings

Performs other tasks as assigned by agency leadership



Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and three years’ experience in direct service and management working with children birth - twelve, their families or programs that serve them OR Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and two years’ experience in direct service and management working with children birth - twelve, their families or programs that serve them.

SPECIAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS: 

An automobile at his/her disposal; a valid driver’s license and a current automobile liability policy with continuous coverage.  Reasonable travel will be reimbursed at the current state rate by the agency.

Must be able to manipulate and operate office supplies and equipment.  Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.  Requires the need for flexible schedules, including occasional evening and weekend work.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Possesses effective oral and written communication skills; possesses strong public speaking skills

Has demonstrated computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs and Microsoft Teams

Has attention to detail with ability to handle large volume of work

Ability to independently manage a large caseload of technical assistance and trainings throughout a nine county East TN region

Ability to prioritize work and travel schedules to balance duties including technical assistance and trainings to clients – both families and childcare agencies

Ability to work well with a diverse client population

Has a professional appearance and demeanor
