Lecturer (Adjunct) in French

Job description

Hartwick College, a nationally ranked, selective liberal arts and sciences institution, invites applications for an Adjunct Lecturer in French for the Fall 2021 Semester. The successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to teach beginning and intermediate French courses (101, 102, 201, 202) depending on their training and expertise. The opportunity to teach in future semesters may be available.

Qualifications include a masters or PhD in French, Applied Linguistics, or a related discipline, along with at least two years of experience teaching French for undergraduates. From time-to-time, the college teaches courses using face-to-face, online distance learning, or in hybrid (online/distance learning and face-to-face mixed) formats, and faculty are expected to offer instruction with comparable content and similar assessments regardless of the modality of course delivery. In their cover letter, applicants should specify their willingness to teach in face-to-face, online and/or hybrid modalities and explain their experience with each. Applicants should be committed to teaching excellence.

Hartwick College is committed to a diverse candidate pool, values an inclusive workforce and workplace environment, and wishes to minimize or eliminate the impact of implicit bias during the search and hiring process.
