To manage and oversee all operations of the DNP and NP certificate programs; to provide support to faculty, staff, and students; to collaborate with administrators at the College of Nursing and University; and to teach in the College of Nursing.

Duties:

A.. Manage the instructional activities and support faculty, staff, and students in the delivery of these academic programs.

  1. Work with the Associate Dean, other Directors and administrative leaders to ensure coordination of program courses, curricular matters, and strategies for meeting student needs;
  2. Collaborate with the Associate Deans and other Directors to recommend faculty needs and course schedules;
  3. Collaborate with faculty to ensure quality in curriculum and effectiveness of student learning consistent with regulatory and accreditation requirements, program and advanced practice standards;
  4. Advise and collaborate with faculty and students to resolve course, clinical and program concerns;
  5. Collaborate with the Associate Dean on the resolution of problems.
  6. Convene meetings of faculty members teaching in the program as needed and in collaboration with the Associate Dean;
  7. Collaborate with other Directors to identify opportunities for faculty research, scholarship and interprofessional collaboration and collaboration of undergraduate and graduate students.

B. Evaluate program and prepare accreditation reports.

  1. Implement the CON evaluation plan as it applies to the program.
  2. Analyze and interpret evaluation data in a meaningful manner;
  3. Share analysis of evaluation data with program faculty and Graduate Committee for review.
  4. Lead faculty teaching in the program and collaborate with the Graduate Committee in making program revisions based upon evaluation data, accreditation standards and current trends in nursing education, practice and research.
  5. Maintain current knowledge of accreditation standards and current trends in nursing education, practice and research and share it with faculty in a timely manner.
  6. Ensure that program adheres to AACN Essentials, CCNE standards and other national standards;
  7. Lead program faculty in drafting accreditation and other reports and write the final version of the report.

C. Participate in recruitment, selection, orientation and evaluation of full-time and part-time/adjunct faculty and staff.

  1. Participate in the recruitment and selection of adjunct faculty.
  2. Participate in the orientation and development of new faculty.
  3. Provide input to the Associate Dean for evaluations of full-time faculty members teaching in the program.
  4. Evaluate part-time adjunct faculty teaching in the program.

D. Collaborate with the Associate Dean and other Directors in preparing proposals and reports for internal and external constituents.

  1. Prepare proposals for curriculum changes in the program
  2. Prepare reports related to the program and collaborate in the preparation of reports and self-studies for the programs;

E. Work with the Associate Dean, academic support services in the College, and those within the University to ensure recruitment of excellent students, retention of students, and high graduation, licensure, and certification rates;

  1. Participate in recruitment events as needed
  2. Monitor enrollment and retention of students enrolled in the program.
  3. Monitor graduation, licensure, and certification rates of students.

F. Participate in securing external funding to support activities of the nursing program and its students.

  1. Work with the Associate Deans and other Directors to develop and implement extramural grant proposals as appropriate to provide creative and expanded learning opportunities.

Qualifications
Required

  1. Doctorate in nursing practice degree with NP preparation
  2. Missouri RN Licensure without disciplinary record
  3. Four or more years of experience as a professional nurse.
  4. Evidence of successful classroom and clinical teaching experience in an accredited nursing program.
  5. Effective interpersonal skills and cultural competence.
  6. Ability to work with a diverse group of student and colleagues
  7. Ability to work independently and within teams
  8. Sensitivity to working with a diverse group of students and colleagues

Preferred

  1. Experience with instructional media and technology
  2. Experience supervising personnel
  3. Strong leadership skills
  4. Excellent organizational skills
