The Tissue Culture Facility (TCF) is UNC Lineberger’s most comprehensive and widely used core facility. The TCF is a full-service cell culture shared resource and provides Lineberger members and UNC colleagues with a wide variety of services and products.

Position Description:

The primary purpose of the position is to perform the tasks related to daily store operations, primarily providing customer sales support, electronic sales tracking, and physical management of store inventory. The majority of the duties involve:
• Providing customer assistance in person/on phone/electronically
• Meet and greet customers as they call or enter the facility
• Communicate with customer directly or electronically to work out customer issues
• Retrieve customer orders and process final delivery of product
• Enter customer purchases into custom-built Filemaker Pro Database

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

The ability to present ideas in a clear, concise, organized manner and to advise program staff/clients in all matters related to program operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred QualificationsBachelors Degree in scientific or business related field.
2 years experience working in customer service
2 years experience working with FileMakerPro database (or similar operational database software)
1 year cell biology experience

Special Physical and Mental Requirements:

Ability to move 25 lbs, regularly and repeatedly
