The UMKC Institute for Human Development, University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (IHD) is an applied research and training center for human services designed to exemplify the University’s goals of engaged scholarship and community partnerships. Its functions include interdisciplinary training, applied research, community program development and information dissemination.

Job Description

The University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) Early Childhood and Youth Program is seeking a Senior Research Assistant with diverse areas of study and needs. The Research Assistant is responsible for the following activities:

  • Coordinate research and evaluation activities among multiple projects
  • Prepare data for reporting, meeting and presentations (i.e. export data from REDCap, clean and organize data).
  • Perform statistical analyses (e.g. t-test, regression, ANOVA)
  • Draft report based on statistical analysis results
  • Work with REDCap
  • Assist in data entry when required
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Attention to details, independent working and problem solving
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Applicants for this position should have a Master’s degree with five years of experience or equivalent knowledge and skills, and relevant experience working with grants, research projects, data, and program evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated relevant training and experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:

  • Proficient in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Experience with data cleaning and processing, organizing and drafting reports or materials for research papers and/or presentation.
  • Experience with database building, maintenance, and management.
  • Outstanding planning, communication & organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and problem-solve.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with a team.
