Job Summary
Columbus State University, a Division II member of the Peach Belt Conference, invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations. This position will report directly to the Director of Athletics and perform all duties in compliance with all NCAA, Peach Belt Conference, and Columbus State University rules and regulations.

Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be a member of the senior leadership team and responsible for:
  • Overall departmental compliance with budgetary transactions
  • Annual NCAA Financial report submission
  • Annual EADA and University System of Georgia reports for input of financials
  • Student athlete grant and aid procedures
    • New student athlete scholarship offer
      • Verify scholarship amount
    • Returning student athlete offer
      • Verify scholarship amount
    • Cancellation of student athlete scholarship
      • Liaison to CSU Financial Aid for cancellation
  • Processing revenue/ expenses and communication with the following area directors:
    • Head coaches
    • Sports Medicine
    • Sports Information
    • SAAC
    • Marketing
    • Athletics Summer camps
  • Overall departmental compliance with institutional regulations regarding summer camps
    • Coordination/submission of summer camp schedule
    • Coordination/ submission of summer camp employment
    • Coordination of auxiliary services supporting summer camps
    • Compliance with all participant and waiver forms
  • Responsible for planning, implementing, managing and directing a variety of internal operations, administrative units and functions, as well as engaging in departmental projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
  • Responsible for coordinating new-hire onboarding with Human Resources, including instructing coaches and new hires in the use of Banner/ARMs accounts, email and other University systems.
  • Supervises work study students and/or interns in the office area and processes all student worker paperwork.
  • Serve as the primary Sport Administrator for select sports or areas, as assigned.
  • Will provide advice and recommendations to the Athletics Director on aspects of internal, as well as external departmental matters.
  • Responsible for managing relationships between intercollegiate athletics and the Office of the Vice President of Business and Finance, Human Resources, and Continuing Education / Active 8 Camps.
  • Will develop positive and productive working relationships with internal and external partners including community, university leadership, and campus departments and other key constituents.
  • Will also serve on various campus committees related to Athletics.
  • Serving with the highest level of integrity while upholding the department and institution's mission, vision and values.
  • Participate in community fund-raising as coordinated by the Director of Athletics.
  • Additional liaison responsibilities to other campus units will be assigned as appropriate.
  • All other related duties as assigned by Director of Athletics

Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors degree; at least three years' experience in athletic administration related to NCAA business operations, compliance, sports medicine, or academics; in-depth knowledge and understanding of institutional, sport conference and NCAA rules and regulations; and exceptional leadership skills. The successful candidate will also have a proven track record of consistently modeling positive behaviors at all times; strong follow-through skills, as well as, the ability to plan, organize, and control projects through to completion; the ability to handle and maintain confidential information; willingness to travel nights and weekends; and the ability to work effectively in a diverse community.

Preferred Qualifications
A postgraduate degree in a related field is preferred.

Proposed Salary
The salary is commensurate with education and experience.
