Overall Description of Responsibility or Nature of WorkThe University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a postdoctoral fellow to work in the Department of Pathology. The lab has ongoing research in head and neck cancer in the following areas: cancer stem cells, immunotherapy and the microenvironment, microRNAs, and TGFβ signaling. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and able to work independently. Qualified candidates should have a recent Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with a background in molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, and/or oncology. Self-motivation, commitment to scientific research, ability to learn new techniques, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Applicant should be proficient with computers. Experience with cell culture, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, PCR and animal models, including handling, colony management and genotyping strongly preferred. Position will include conducting research experiments, data management, molecular biology assays, writing grants and papers, and other duties as assigned. Salary and Benefits:The hiring rate (or budgeted rate) for this position has been established at $53,706.The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.The University of Colorado offers a full benefits package.
