Department Summary:

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers bachelors, masters, and doctoral level education leading to the appropriate degrees in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering provides a curriculum and course of training that will prepare today’s graduates not only for today’s challenges, but also for future challenges in a fast-paced, global, and diverse society. As a result, our program emphasizes the fundamentals of engineering and modern methods, processes and technologies and also gives the students the tools to learn by themselves and to pursue life-long learning.

Position Overview:

The Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Assists the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies in maintaining current database for graduate applicants. * Uses EIS to document graduate student application decisions, advising information. * Sets up new graduate student files and maintains current files with required paperwork. * Works with the Toulouse Graduate School to ensure all paperwork is filed and completed accurately and on time. * Maintains records and applications for Teaching Assistant/Fellow support each semester. * Coordinates the English certification testing. * Handles student requests pertaining to admission status, financial aid, degree plans, etc. * Handles all forms required by the department and the Toulouse Graduate School for advising, degree plans, applications, qualifying exams, topic proposals, graduation, etc. * Assists in meeting students and the public. * Serves as back-up reconciler for the departmental purchasing card.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and three years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
• Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex
nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
• Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
• Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
• Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
• Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned
• Supervisory skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: * Familiarity with the UNT EIS System. * Experience with Toulouse Graduate School policies and procedures.
