Maintains and follows a safe, productive, cost effective, and comprehensive planned and corrective maintenance program for constant reliable operations relating to all campus-wide electrical systems, including but not limited to building, lighting, power circuit, and emergency systems by receiving work orders; communicating with the supervisor; planning, inspecting, verifying, communicating, and problem solving assigned facility electrical issues; ensuring that all work performed follows the departmental and OSHA safety guidelines, policies, and regulations; and assisting with ensuring that all facility electrical systems are in safe working order and compliant with national and local codes and regulations while exhibiting professionalism in conduct, appearance, and work practices.
Assists with the installation of conduit, electrical raceways, electrical emergency systems such as fire alarms, smoke detectors, emergency lighting, and new electrical services by remodeling and renovating building electrical systems to accommodate increased load requirements; providing power to HVAC, laboratory, and specialty equipment; and pulling wire and cable for electrical requirements while ensuring that work is in code compliance.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):
High school diploma and directly related trade experience.
Driver’s License required.Preferred Qualifications:
Electrician License preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
