The College of Pharmacy at the University of South Carolina (USC) is currently seeking an ambitious individual for one full-time, 12-month faculty position. This is a non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor position in the Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences. The primary responsibility for this position will be to lead f the UofSC College of Pharmacy Diagnostic Genomics Lab. This is a CLIA-certified lab that performs a saliva-based rapid test for the novel CoV-2 coronavirus. Other responsibilities for this position will also include teaching of Doctor of Pharmacy students and residents, research and scholarly activity, university, and college service relevant to the operation of this lab.Required Education and Experience:
The successful candidate for this position will have a Ph.D. degree in Biological sciences or related Biomedical scientific discipline (postdoctoral experience preferred) with at least 8 years of experience in Biomedical research settings.
Obtained certifications required for the operation and oversight of a CLIA-certified diagnostic medical lab, including for example from ASCP or ABB.
Effectively demonstrate current knowledge of CLIA regulations, HIPPA regulations regarding the protection of health information, and lab safety pertaining to the handling of human samples.
The candidate should possess excellent written and oral skills through the ability to read and understand complex information and ideas.
The successful candidate should possess skills in oral comprehension through the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
The successful candidate should have the ability and willingness to change direction and focus to meet shifting organizational and business demands which includes the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
