The Georgia Tech Career Center is a part of the Georgia Tech Office of Undergraduate Education. The Career Center helps students prepare for their future through career exploration, internships, career advising, career fairs, career education, and more.

The Career Center includes the cooperative education (Co-op) and internship programs in which students can participate while attending Georgia Tech, and a Career Education team provides resources students need to support their searches for full-time employment after graduation, such as help with the exploration, selection, and pursuit of meaningful careers; career counseling; resume writing interview tips, and more.To learn more, visit www.career.gatech.edu

Job Summary

Assist with developing strategies to reach every Georgia Tech undergraduate student with high quality career education through delivering multi-modal career education initiatives. Cultivate a campus community that prepares all students for their future. With an emphasis on presenting, teaching, training champions, and group sessions, this role will strategically develop and scale opportunities and programs which empower all students to identify career paths, secure internships and/or co-ops, and ultimately find career success upon graduation. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Career Center Leadership and Staff, Students, Faculty, Alumni, and employer representatives. This position will typically advise and counsel: Career Center Leadership and Staff, Students, Faculty, Alumni, and employer representatives. This position will supervise student assistants.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1

Develop and deliver programming, training, classroom presentations, workshops, initiatives, and advising models which support students in identifying career pathways, co-op, internships, and post-graduation career opportunities.

Job Duty 2

Create career education content that is relevant and deliverable in various presentation settings

Job Duty 3

Serve as a career education liaison to an assigned college and support efforts to serve other high need colleges

Job Duty 4

Develop initiatives to scale and integrate career development into the fabric of the assigned college; support office-wide efforts to create and activate a robust career ecosystem which serves all students from all colleges and majors. Building relationships with academic college faculty, staff, and administrative assistants

Job Duty 5

Expand engagement with key departments on campus, such as academic advising, pre-professional advising, athletics, student life and other constituents.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Two to four years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience within career development, higher education, human resources, or other relevant corporate and community experience. Experience providing career education within the targeted discipline

Preferred Educational Qualifications
At least one degree in the appropriate academic discipline where the career educator will work (e.g., sciences, liberal arts, design, engineering)

Preferred Experience
Five to seven years of job related experience

Other Information

The Career Educator position will be embedded within the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts (IAC) to provide customized career programming and career advising to the IAC student population. This role will also expand employment opportunities for students by developing alumni relationships associated with the College and additional business development efforts.

Proposed annual salary is $55,000 - $65,000 plus full benefits. GT employees are bound to the GT/USG compensation policy.
