Job Summary

SITS Technicians and Front Desk Receiptionsits assist with handling and processing issues with electronic equipment for the University of West Georgia campus. This position will require a technician for assisting with handling the ticketing system that processes work on electronic equipment for repairs along with a front desk receptionist who will assist with processing and maintaining the ticketing system so that orders are processed in an organized and timely manner.

Required Qualifications

Must have been a University of West Georgia student for the previous spring semester or will be an incoming student for the upcoming fall semester and maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.

Preferred Qualifications

GPA above 2.5

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

"Must possess the ability to work on your own initiative as well as being a team member.

Can document the software and hardware problems associated with 12,000+ students’ personal computers and other peripherals.

Assist in installation of new and/or existing applications and document software issues that occur.

Inform users about status of their tickets"

Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

"The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, codified at 20 USC 1092 (f) as a part of the Higher Education Act of 1965, is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose certain timely and annual information about campus crime and security policies.

It is always the policy of the University of West Georgia Police Department to provide to the public an annual campus security report and comply with the federal law known as the Clery Act."

SITS SAs will get hands on experience with a customer service environment, learn more about how to handle and process issues with technical equipment such as laptops and learn valuable communication and organization skills by working with the public and the SITS ticketing system and also teamwork and collaboration.
