General Statement of Job
Responsible for instruction in English as a Second Language (ESL) and/or subject/subjects of the GED (writing skills, social studies, science, language arts, and mathematics) and/or non-credit Career Pathways classes (computer applications, hospitality, and medical), and/or substitution of these same classes.
PLEASE NOTE: For FY21, this hourly position may pay between $19.50 and $24.75/hour plus .25 prep depending on education and experience. All instructors start in substitute position ($19.50/hr) until offered a class assignment.Information for This Posting Only
Since March 30, 2020, all Adult Education courses are being taught online using WebEx, Google Meet, and/or Blackboard Collaborate. This is subject to change.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist students with digital literacy. Develop syllabus for each class that includes related content standards. Record and log student class attendance on a timely basis into Adult Education Google systems. Provide outreach to new and continuing students regarding class joining details, cancellations, and other related information.Other
Assist with student enrollment events as available.KnowledgeMust possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Knowledge of effective teaching techniques. Able to plan creative, relevant lessons that match student learning needs. Effective classroom management and individual communication techniques. Knowledge of virtual conferencing tools such as WebEx, Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, and/or Google Meet. Knowledge of ACC student systems such as ACC email, claiming your ACCeID, and online services. Work is performed in a standard office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting and moving of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety
