Job Description Summary:

APPLICATION DEADLINE: This is an open until filled search. First consideration will be given to applications received by April 30, 2021. Second consideration may be given to applications received by June 4, 2021. Applications received subsequent to second consideration date (June 4, 2021) may not be given full consideration.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide support for a longitudinal development study of adults. Perform research protocol reliably including interviews, standardized tests, and collection of biomedical data. Manage and monitor administration and scoring of performance-based testing and home visits. Document research data and evaluate research reliability results. Supervise other Research Assistant staff. Provide administrative support, such as timely follow-up of weekly team meetings and quarterly protocol reliability for research staff. Ensure complete and accurate data for entry including scoring procedures and scoring software. Securely maintain paper and electronic data files.

Preserve and protect participant rights to confidentiality. Ensure that all research staff are up-to date on Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certification and maintain confidentiality of participant information. Ensure that all research staff treat records, correspondence, computer files, disks, databases and related items with utmost security and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform and direct daily activities of the project for participant contact and scheduling, protocol administration, and collection of complete data under the direction of Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator.

Perform regular appraisals and updates on participant recruitment and follow-up to the research team, Principal Investigator, and Co-Investigator.

Ensure proper collection, storage, and shipping of biological specimens.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform additional duties as required.

LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Personal computers, printers and word processing, database management and spreadsheet software. Must provide own transportation.

Required Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

1.Bachelor’s degree in psychology, child development, health studies, nursing or related field with a minimum of five years of research experience.

2.Minimum of two years of experience in clinical research.

3.Demonstrated knowledge of research principles.

4.Demonstrated ability to perform and train assessments in a research protocol.

5.Demonstrated supervisory experience.

6.Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

7.Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

8.Demonstrated experience with technical instruments required for performance of the research protocol.

9.Demonstrated ability to protect and preserve patient and participants rights to confidentiality.

10.Demonstrated ability to lift laboratory equipment, such as: research equipment, lab samples and boxes (no more than 25 pounds).

11.Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

12.Must provide own transportation.

Environmental Conditions:

This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. This position requires manual dexterity and mobility. Must be able to regularly sit, stand or walk, and occasionally reach for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift, push, move and/or carry supplies or equipment (no more than 25 pounds). This position requires, on occasion, the ability to bend, stoop, crouch or kneel.
