Job DetailsLevel ExperiencedJob Location Oglethorpe University - Atlanta, GAPosition Type Full-Time FacultyEducation Level Master'sJob Category EducationDescription The Division of Behavioral Sciences at Oglethorpe University welcomes applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Psychology to serve during the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters. The teaching load will be 7 courses/year. While it is likely that most of the candidate’s courses will be taught in the traditional 16 week format of our day program, 1-2 courses may be in the university’s evening Adult Degree Program, so applicants should address in their cover letters both (a) their experience teaching in 8-week accelerated programs and (b) their availability to teach at night (between 6pm and 10:30pm). Applicants must be able to teach introductory psychology, but will have the opportunity to teach courses in their area of expertise during spring semester. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses that contribute to Oglethorpe’s emphasis on DEI initiatives, for example: Psychology of Women, African American Psychology, Cross Cultural Psychology, Psychology of Sexual Orientation. The position involves a 30% service contribution, which could include activities such as serving on committees and supervising undergraduate internships.

Qualifications Preference is for a Ph.D. with teaching experience; ABD will be considered (must have at least a master’s degree).
