Position Summary:

Western Carolina University, a member of the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision and the Southern Conference is seeking applications for the position of Head Football Coach. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the overall operation and success of the WCU Football program in the areas of academics, athletics and student athlete conduct. Plan, coordinate and supervise the activities of the football program. Hire, supervise and evaluate the performance of the assistant coaches. Responsible for recruiting, fundraising, summer camps, budget management and involvement in public relations/community activities, as well as other duties assigned. Promote the football program and the University. Understand, support and maintain compliance to the rules and regulations of the Department of Athletics, Western Carolina University, Southern Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association.

WCU is a participant in the Collegiate Coaching Diversity Pledge (CCDP). Finalists may be contacted by the CCDP’s clearinghouse, James Moore & Co in the event WCU’s hire is randomly selected for review at the conclusion of each hiring season.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. Collegiate coaching experience and demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required. All degrees must be from an accredited institution.

Master’s degree preferred.
