Salary Information:

HIRING RANGE: $17.92-$19.08 per hour based on experience.
Pay Grade: 07

Job Summary:

Keep buildings or portions of the Carroll Campus, Technology Resource Center, and the DMACC Hope Hall Dormitories neat, clean and sanitary for use by the college community. Perform mechanical, electrical and plumbing repairs. Act on behalf of the supervisor as directed.

Essential Functions:

Install, program, repair and maintain accurate records of electrical locks; perform
security audit trails and maintain a working inventory of locking systems.

Install, repair or remove classroom equipment, wall systems, furnishings and other building finishes. Build cabinets, storage units and partitions. Apply paint, stain or varnishes to various finishes of walls, doors and cabinets. Repair, replace or paint ceiling
tile and ceiling grid. Perform plumbing repairs.

Maintain and repair grounds equipment. Keep records of equipment repairs.
Perform all phases of grounds keeping work. Operate a wide variety of equipment,
including heavy equipment requiring special training. Maintain grounds including but not
limited to: snow removal; mowing; planting; fertilizing; aeration.

Perform various building cleaning tasks as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

One year of mechanical, electrical, carpentry or custodial experience which included some electrical lock experience and minor building
maintenance experience.

Ability to read and understand operating instructions.

Ability to periodically move equipment/furniture/supplies weighing up to 75 lbs; occasionally climb ladders; frequently bend, reach, and push.

Valid Iowa driver’s license, or ability to obtain, with a satisfactory driving record.

Ability to interact effectively, courteously and impartially with diverse populations.

Desired Qualifications:

Community college or education institution experience.

Experience and commitment to working with diverse populations.
