Department Summary:

International Affairs is a guide and champion for campus internationalization at the University of North Texas. It is our mission to support the university’s global endeavors and international initiatives. This position will be a part of the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) team. The ISSS Office at the University of North Texas provides compassionate immigration advice and support to UNT’s 3,000 international students and scholars.

Position Summary:

This position is temporary part-time work within the International Student and Scholar Services Office assisting with high volume immigration document processing. Work includes draft issuance of Initial Attendance I-20’s for newly admitted students, entry level F-1 student advising for continuing international students, and document processing as related to F-1 status.
• Advises international students or employees on issues related to assigned area.
• Evaluates relevant documentation to ensure all pertinent information has been received and is accurate.
• Completes immigration documentation in Sunapsis and reviews for accuracy.
• Monitors and updates databases and spreadsheets; ensures files are transmitted from EIS to Sunapsis.
•Verifies data integrity between EIS and Sunapsis.
• Performs quality checks on each student’s file to ensure all pertinent information has been received and is accurate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree and two years of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Understanding of the immigration regulation(s) associated with assigned area.
• Experience with SEVIS and a vendor software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of business practices and procedures, ability to organize, detail oriented; capacity to multi-task; good time management skills.
• Ability to work well under stress.
• Ability to work in an open office area with much activity.
• Proficiency in a second language is preferred but not required.
