Overview

Applications are being accepted for a full-time Student Support Representative at Moraine Park Technical College, Fond du Lac Campus.  This position provides admissions, registration, records and financial aid support and customer service to visitors and students in person, via telephone and/or by utilizing chat messaging.  

 

 

 

Beginning: Immediately

 

Responsibilities

1. Greet internal and external visitors. Provide support and guidance as it relates to admissions, registration, records, financial aid processes, and other College information in person, via telephone, and/or by utilizing chat messaging.

2. Provide assistance to students utilizing Student Self-Service. Troubleshoot, research and follow up with student error messages with accounts, emails and CRM (customer relationship management) system. Reset-passwords as necessary.

3. Process semester registrations and withdrawals, add and drop course sections, process record changes and overrides in ERP (enterprise resource planning). Process incoming transcripts and Financial Aid paperwork. 4. Validate, collect and process fees and payments. Close and reconcile cashiering sessions.

5. Work in coordination with all areas of the College to respond to and process student requests.

6. Operate and provide backup assistance to switchboard operator related to the paging and emergency broadcasting system.

7. Work on special projects, as required.

8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED required, Associate degree in a related field preferred.

2. Two years of customer service or related experience required.

3. Any combination of equivalent training and experience which provides desired knowledge, skills and abilities.

4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, concisely and courteously by establishing a good rapport, fostering agreements, identifying expectations, seeking feedback, and giving consistent, accurate responses.

5. Working knowledge of general office practices and procedures, terminology and equipment.

6. Demonstrated ability to respect the confidentiality of information. Family Education Rights and Privacy (FERPA) experience preferred.

7. Ability to analyze situations, think critically and problem solve.

8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, students and public. Ability to work in a team-based environment.

9. Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

10. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access and/or Power Point). Experience with an ERP system, preferably Banner. Experience with document imaging is also preferred.

11. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers.
