Description:

The College of Health & Human Performance (HHP) announces a search for an Associate Dean of Faculty and Staff Affairs. This position involves a wide-range of responsibilities including serving as an advocate for faculty and staff members in the college and university. This position is a part-time .50 FTE 12-month position.

Being a faculty member advocate involves (a) working with Faculty, the Dean, Department Chairs, and the Provost’s Office during the promotion and tenure process; (b) ensuring that forming and electing college committees are transparent and conducted within UF’s guidelines as they complete their specified assignments according to approved operating codes; (c) assisting at multiple levels in the search and screen process while advocating for an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and access for all pool and hiring process; (d) serving as a source for brain-storming (i.e. present content and attend in-person and/or virtual meetings) with the Dean, Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and faculty members to discuss any college issues of concern; (e) administering and overseeing compliance and conflict of interest submissions  tracking Faculty Assignment Reports (FAR), and coordinating Annual Performance Review (APR) yearly updates and revisions; (f) overseeing the distribution and selection process for university and college awards and development; (g) monitoring the college’s webpages for accurate and current content on documents, policies, procedures, and forms as well as active links; and (h) representing the college at university meetings and convey important policy information to the college.

Moreover, being a staff member advocate involves (a) working with Faculty, the Dean, and Department Chairs in overseeing HHP staff policies including merit pay plan, equity pay requests, grievances, and disciplinary actions; (b) assisting in the search and screen process while strongly encouraging an inclusive, diverse, equitable, with access for all pool and hiring process; (c) serving as a source for brain-storming (i.e. present content and attend in-person and/or virtual meetings) with staff members to discuss any college issues of concern; and (d) overseeing the distribution and selection process for university and college staff awards and development.


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a permanent tenured HHP faculty who has (1) evidence of successful administrative experience with budgetary and supervisory responsibilities, (2) outstanding leadership and communication skills, and (3) and a desire to be an advocate for all faculty and staff within HHP. The candidate must have the ability and willingness to foster positive relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside of HHP.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates, who are at the Senior Associate or Full Professor rank, have an understanding of HHP/UF policies and guidelines, who can articulate a clear understanding of HHP’s award programs, Human Resources, and can provide guidance to all faculty throughout the faculty life cycle.

Commensurate with experience
