Description:

The University of Florida Department of Aging and Geriatric Research, Biology of Aging Division is seeking a Research Assistant Professor to advance collaborative cutting edge, translational research focused on aging, cancer, and cardiovascular research, contribute to post-graduate mentoring, and bring significant contributions to the overarching research and education themes and goals for the department and institute, which consist in improving the health, independence and quality of life of older adults by means of interdisciplinary teams in areas of research, education and health care.  

The incumbent will also be expected to assist in education programs and will apply to external sources for support. The development of basic science, translational and interdisciplinary research studies, publications and presentations of results will be important measures of academic productivity.

This is a 12-month non-tenure-accruing position. The overall effort will consist of 70% research, 20% teaching and 10% service. 
 


Qualifications:

Qualifications: Completed Doctorate in Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, or related fields, or M.D; evidence of quality publication record and of potential for and/or record of external grant funding.
