Job Summary We are seeking an engineer to serve in multiple roles such as project developer, project leader, and investigator. The job is physically located at the NEETRAC laboratory campus in Forest Park, Ga. Rank will commensurate with experience.

    Lead (as Principal Investigator) and participate in multiple, complex, applied-research projects in the field of high-voltage electrical Transmission and Distribution.Prepare and present detailed Project Reports to the NEETRAC Management Board and the Technical Advisors.Partner with NEETRAC members to develop project proposals from their technical needs.Innovatively design and conduct robust and practical experimental programs.Lead and participate in complex laboratory (primarily high voltage and high current) and field testing.Recommend project ideas / improvements to Members.Participate in external technical bodies to enhance internal knowledge and identify technical needs.Lead and participate in Device Forensic activities, both mechanical and electrical.Participate in Population Forensics studies.Recognize the need for, build and use electrical and statistical models of devices and systems to gain a deeper understanding of phenomena.Undertake the curation and analysis of utility performance / measurement data.Undertake travel for Field work, technical interactions with members, as required.

Develop strong relationships with the academic body of Georgia Tech’s ECE and develop and execute joint research activities

Required Qualifications

Researcher I

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related area.

Researcher II

  • A Master’s degree and three (3) years of rlevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree.

Senior Researcher

  • A Master’s degree and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.
