Description:

The Chemistry Department invites applications for two one-year Visiting Assistant Professor positions beginning July 1, 2021, with the possibility of reappointment for a second year.  The teaching load for each position is five courses, including laboratories.  Teaching responsibilities for the Physical Chemistry position might include courses and laboratories in Physical Chemistry I and II, Physical Methods for Chemical Analysis, Principles of Chemistry, and an advanced course in the candidate’s area of expertise; teaching responsibilities for the Organic Chemistry position might include courses and laboratories in Organic Chemistry, Research Methods in Chemistry, and an advanced course in the candidate’s area of expertise.  The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to mentor student research projects. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry and be committed to undergraduate education, have interest in teaching a diverse student population, and demonstrate excellence, or the potential for excellence, in teaching undergraduates.  Postdoctoral experience is desired, but not required.
