General Summary

The Research Graduate Assistant performs research as a majority of their service. Working closely with one or more faculty members, assist with scholarly activities or research. Potentially includes all phases of research from design through literature review, data collection, analysis, writing, and preparation/presentation of findings.

The Research Graduate Assistant receives a stipend and a tax-exempt tuition waiver.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Provide support to the Department of Special Education & Communications Sciences and Disorders. Respond to requests for data, prepare reports, develop and maintain databases, special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Admission into a Graduate Program in the Department of Special Education & Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Excellent communication and written skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality with all aspects of position, and ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and partnerships with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Knowledge of Google and Microsoft Office Suites: Excel, Power Point, and Word

· Good organization skills, the ability to anticipate projects and self-motivation;

· Skilled in library research;

· Willingness to collaborate with staff and various constituent groups;

· Ability to prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks;

· Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines;

· Ability to work in a busy environment;

· Capable of working unsupervised and as part of a team;

· Exhibit a professional disposition on the phone and in person;

· Preference will be given to graduate students who are able work two consecutive years (fall 2021, winter 2022, fall 2022, winter 2023

This assistantship carries a stipend and Graduate Assistants will also receive a tuition scholarship for up to 5 credit hours for Fall, up to 4 credit hours for Winter. Any courses added or dropped late will not be covered by this assistantship, and you may be responsible for additional fees. Additionally, Graduate Assistants are responsible for the payment of fees outside of tuition and differential tuition.
