The neurodevelopment and genetics research group at Kenyon College seeks a full-time Neuroscience Research Assistant to support a National Science Foundation-funded project. The Research Assistant is embedded in the laboratory and assists with experiments and laboratory management. The position is ideal for a recent college graduate wanting additional experience and training in laboratory research, animal care, and mentorship. The start date is anticipated in June 2021.

Responsibilities include conducting molecular experiments investigating neurodevelopment using zebrafish, managing the aquaculture facility, maintaining equipment, and preparing research supplies. The Research Assistant will also work directly with undergraduates and assist with lab management and course preparations.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess, or anticipate in Spring 2021, a Bachelor’s degree in biology, neuroscience, or related fields. Applicants should be motivated to work in a vertebrate research laboratory and have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
