Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY

The mission of the School of Education is to recruit, prepare, and support outstanding teachers, mental health professionals, and administrators who will create lifelong opportunities through education for America’s diverse urban communities. The Office Support IV in the Division of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Foundations (ELPF) will assist the Division in all administrative capacities including division website, enrollment management efforts, preparing reports for accreditation and supervise Graduate Research Assistants as assigned.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES

    Provide daily assistance to the Division and show initiative on short and long-term projects including faculty searches, website and database management, update faculty web pages, and prepare written correspondenceAnswer main phone, order office supplies, schedule rooms for meetings, and other general office dutiesMaintain confidential student files, advise prospective students on program and curriculum requirements, process all admissions paperwork, know electronic student information system, and act as the divisional contact for current students in ELPF programsAssist the Dean’s Office and faculty with divisional marketing and public relations projects (i.e. recruitment publications and invitations), assist in all student recruitment efforts as requested, organize all course evaluations for divisionResponsible for financial administration of all divisional accounts; completing budget revisions as necessary, process purchase requisitions and travel reimbursements for division facultyProvide administrative assistance to divisional faculty members and adjunct faculty members, i.e. assist in all student recruitment efforts as requestedAssist with divisional meeting scheduling and record minutes, purchase meals, coordinate student orientations, and other administrative functions as assignedAdhere to and assist with university policies and procedures as applicable to division faculty and overall job dutiesCommunicate with personnel in various departments, academic units and administrative levels within the University system
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications include, excellent customer service skills, team player attitude, outstanding verbal and written communication and organization skills, appreciation and respect for diversity of others, and ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Must be able to troubleshoot problems with the ability to seek solutions, and work independently.

Bachelor’s degree. Expert skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access. Candidates should also have advanced skills in internet research, such as Library Database Research. Must be familiar with Social Media (Instagram, Facebook & Twitter), and have the ability to write copy for posts. Preferred candidates will have experience using Peoplesoft, Adobe Acrobat & Reader, or the ability to learn new software quickly and proficiently.

Salary

$13.92 - $17.00/hour
