Stanford University's Continuing Studies Program (CSP) is a premier adult learning program offering more than 600 courses, workshops, and seminars to more than 17,000 students annually. The mission of Stanford Continuing Studies is to share the rich educational resources of Stanford University with adult students living in the Bay Area and beyond.

Stanford Continuing Studies is seeking a Senior Curriculum Developer and Program Analyst. This position is 1-Year Fixed Term, 75% FTE. The SCD-PA will help provide high-level administrative leadership to help expand and streamline education offerings for Continuing Studies, including both courses and free online webinars. The SCP-PA will help lead curriculum development in a range of courses including technology, design, health and wellness, and communications. In addition, they will provide data analysis, evaluation, and instructor development support to help guide decision-making and support continuous program quality improvement. The SC-PDA will also serve as a leader, project manager and liaison in helping to manage large scale courses, new initiatives, and partnerships with University groups and others. Examples might include helping to organize free online webinars, providing project management support for website development, or working with the team at Stanford Center for Professional Development to develop CSP courses for wider online distribution. A successful candidate will have a strong background in education, a proven ability to work closely with faculty and other senior-level university leaders and administrators. They will also possess excellent writing and organizational skills as well as the ability to identify and design appealing courses and topics for a continuing studies audience.

Your responsibilities include:

Curriculum Development and Coordination

Serve as curriculum coordinator for the technology and data science, communications, design, professional development, science, and health and wellness sections. (Includes working with existing instructors, and recruiting new ones, in order to create an engaging lineup of courses that will appeal to a broad base of students.)

Program Analysis, Evaluation, and Instructor Development

Conduct analysis of program (demographics, enrollment trends, etc.) to support continuous quality improvement and an understanding of the CSP audience to inform marketing, course development and other aspects of decision-making.

Analyze course evaluation data and identify instructors who may need additional support, training, or development to improve the quality of their courses.

Coach instructors on effective pedagogical approaches and help generate strategies for streamlining course preparation in cases where instructors are working beyond their allotted hours.

Develop surveys to gather program data and conduct focus groups as needed.

Gather and present data (e.g., enrollment trends and evaluation scores) to help guide decision-making around course selection.

Lead and Manage Operations for Large Scale Courses, University Partnerships, etc.
Examples of projects include:

Large scale courses with multiple high-profile speakers (e.g., Elections, Ethics and Technology) and/or a range of students involved (matriculated, CSP, high school students)

Partnership with Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD) to create or leverage CSP courses for wider distribution on external platforms (Coursera, EdEx, etc.)

Partnership with Office of Community Engagement to develop web-based mini-lecture series.
Responsibilities will include (among others):

Developing budgets and communicating around payments/compensation

Ensuring programs/events are organized and delivered in alignment with University policies and laws regarding privacy (FERPA), consent/disclosure around recording, etc.

Communicating with University Communications and External Relations regarding high profile speakers and events.

Providing project management to ensure timelines are met for all logistics related to the projects/courses/events so that the marketing, preparation, and launch of the event take place seamlessly.

To be successful in the position, you will bring:

Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. Program administration and or research experience may be required.

In addition, preferred requirements include:

Master's degree or higher in education

3+ years' experience working in education and curriculum.

Training and skills in data analysis and evaluation

Ability to manage and organize complex projects.

Experience working closely with faculty and instructors.

Ability to understand and manage/develop budgets.

Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.

Demonstrated interest in lifelong learning.

Excellent writing and communication skills.
