General Summary

Provide individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, consultation, training, supervision, and other support services to MAGIC students.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Provide long-term and short-term psychotherapy to MAGIC students with psychological and developmental concerns.

Consult MAGIC and Academic Success Partnerships personnel as well as other University personnel, parents, and others as needed in the therapy process.

Provide clinical assessments and DSM diagnoses for clients (students)..

Utilize appropriate crisis management and debriefing skills to handle individual and campus emergencies

Develop and implement monthly workshops/groups to assist MAGIC student engagement, development, retention, and maintain psychological health and related behavior.

Prepare accurate, timely reports and other documentation relevant to clinical work.

Willingness and ability to work within a trauma-informed therapy model.

Perform related departmental duties as required by the Director.

Qualifications

Master's degree in clinical social work, clinical mental health counseling, or college counseling is required. Master's program must be either a CSWE or CACREP accredited program.

Three years of experience working with foster care and the child welfare system is preferred.

Demonstrated training and clinical experience in mental health counseling is required.

Three years of experience providing psychotherapy is required.

State of Michigan master's level license in clinical social work or counseling is required (if limited license, must obtain full license in Michigan within one year of hire).

Demonstrated sensitivity to multi-cultural issues and an ability to relate to diverse and under-represented populations is required.

Experience providing psychotherapy to a college population is preferred.

Previous experience providing clinical supervision is preferred.

Eligibility to provide clinical supervision within one year of hire is required.
