Minimum Qualifications:

Terminal degree required. Additional professional licensure and/or certification in the field may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of a J.D. from an ABA accredited law school. Eligible to sit for July 2021 Bar exam.

Position Summary:

Serves as a member of the compliance team that is committed to excellence and advancing the vision of the University of Georgia Athletic Association. This position works in conjunction with the compliance staff to provide counsel in implementation and adhering to NCAA, SEC and institution regulations.

This position is focused on furthering knowledge and skills in the field of athletic compliance and focuses on monitoring of all Bylaws. Additionally, this position is a member of the compliance monitoring team to ensure adherence to personnel, recruiting, extra benefit, and playing and practice season legislation. This position is expected to act with integrity and discretion as they will be exposed to sensitive and confidential information. This position works in a fast-paced creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.

The fellow position is a one year appointment that can be renewed at the discretion of the department.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Strong organizational and time management skills, including ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and seek guidance when appropriate.

Advocacy skills, excellent writing skills, and experience working with diverse and vulnerable.

Expected to have successful experience working in a collaborative and team-oriented environment and act with integrity and personal accountability.

Monitoring of sport assignments to verify personnel seated with sport-specific roles in
order to comply with NCAA regulations for those in head coach, assistant coach and support staff positions.

Monitoring recruiting documentation, playing and practice sessions, student-athlete
housing and meals, vehicles and other pertinent information to comply with NCAA, SEC and institutional regulations.
