Denver is one of America’s most vibrant urban centers and the downtown campus, located just steps from the Denver Center for Performing Arts and the LoDo District, affords our students, faculty and staff access to a broad array of academic, professional, community, recreational and cultural outlets.Job Summary: The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation seeks a Professional Research Assistant who will work under the supervision of Dr. Bryann DeBeer in support of SERA. SERA seeks to investigate the long-term impact of Gulf War Illness on quality of life and engagement with the VA healthcare system. SERA and this position are located at the Rocky Mountain Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center (MIRECC) at the Denver VA Medical Center. Examples of Work Performed- Program management support (e.g., tracking timelines and milestones; communications management)
- Program admin support (e.g., meetings, travel, research and program files)
- Regulatory compliance;
- Recruitment, screening, interviewing and scheduling study subjects;
- Perform human subjects data collection (e.g., survey administration, computerized data input and export; data management)
- Systematic review;
- Qualitative and quantitative methods;
- Dissemination of research findings (e.g., support manuscript writing, presentation of results, research reports, and use of alternative and social media).
- Manage external contracts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (MS or MA) and 3 years of research assistant or research coordinator experience, or
- Undergraduate degree (BS or BA) or higher in a related field and 7 years of experience research assistant or research coordinator experience or
- Experience with human subjects in research
- Prior experience working with community mental health or public health programs
- Strong communications skills and familiarity with social media
- Well-organized, able to work independently and with teams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Ability to work independently and make reasoned decisions
- Must be team-oriented, flexible and self-motivated
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrate commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
- Proficiency with statistical software such as SPSS or SAS
- Excellent data management and cleaning skills
- Knowledge of human subjects research and institutional review board processes
- Skills in human subjects study coordination, such as excellent recruitment and retention skills
- Excellent clinical interviewing skills (e.g., qualitative interviews, Clinician Administered PTSD Scale, etc.)
