Responsibilities
    Responsible for coordinating the management of the Graduate Program, including curricular planning for PhD and Master's students, counseling, course advising, student progress, student teaching assignments, fellowship eligibility, tuition waivers and data reporting. Serves as liaison to the Graduate School, the Dean's Office and University offices. Represents the department at University and College meetings regarding updates on graduate policies, etc. Develops, interprets and advises department chair and Associate Chairs on policies; manages and updates policies, procedures and information to streamline processes for graduate students and faculty.Responsible for promoting and marketing of the graduate program. Supervises and coordinates annual recruitment for PhD program and biannual recruitment for course-based Masters program. Responsible for updating the Department Specific Requirements each semester; updates, edits and prepares materials for the FSU Graduate Bulletin. Serves as the point of contact for new applicants.Oversees receipt and processing of graduate applications; ensures timely distribution of assistantship offer letters for new and current graduate students. Notifies University officials of admission decisions. Works in conjunction with the Office of Global Engagement to resolve visa issues and assists in new student orientation. Attends regular workshops on admissions procedures and policies and serves as departmental liaison with the Office of Admissions and the Registrar's Office.Supervises Academic Support Assistant and OPS employees to ensure effective program operations and workflow.Works with the Department's Business Manager on OPS budget for graduate students. Updates Excel spreadsheet and tracks teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and research fellowships for the department.Oversees the course building, registration, and admissions tasks during peak advising times and when the Academic Support Assistant is absent to ensure processes are completed as required. Other duties as assigned to include special projects such as, researching stipend levels at other institutions, manipulating data for various reports, etc. Contributes to revisions of departmental Graduate Student Handbook.
Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience. (Note: Higher education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.) Experience performing multiple work assignments simultaneously and accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Experience working independently with minimal to moderate supervision. Experience with applicable computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent software. Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Preferred Preferred qualifications include:

    Experience with the admission process.Experience in advising transfer students.Knowledge of academic resources available to students.Experience interpreting academic program requirements and providing advice.Experience in academic program planning, development, and evaluation. Knowledge of career counseling tools and resources.Experience with Student Central and Campus Connect.Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, including departments on campus.

Anticipated Salary Range

Anticipated starting salary in the mid to high $30,000's, commensurate with qualifications.
