Job Description:

POSITION: Part-Time Student Success Management Specialist: Student Success Management Department, Academic and Student Affairs; Haverhill Campus; 18 hours per week; MCCC/MTA Unit Professional Position; This is a temporary, Grant Funded (CARES) Position through December 31, 2021.

SUMMARY: The Student Success Management Specialist will be responsible for maximizing the use of Navigate in Academic and Student Affairs. The first substantial project for this position will be to partner with individuals across the college to optimize their use of the Navigate platform and ensure the tool is being used effectively. Besides serving as a specialist for individuals as they seek to expand their use of Navigate, this position will serve as the functional administrator of Navigate and its surrounding business processes. This position serves on the Navigate Leadership Team as the App Admin. Additionally, the SSM Specialist will facilitate efficient case management of the student ambassadors and provide additional support for our growing team of student employees. This position reports to the Director of Student Success Management.


Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Navigate Specialist:

  • Play a role in training, testing, and upgrades of Navigate and other applications
  • Support end users to incorporate application enhancements and technologies into business processes
  • Conduct group and individual training sessions
  • Partner with technical counterparts to troubleshoot technical issues reported by end users
  • Create and maintain training materials for end users
  • Manage the content and configurations of the Navigate platform

Student Ambassador Support Role:

  • Assign cases to student ambassadors daily
  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure high quality comments and alerts are submitted
  • Monitor ambassador workloads and case completion rates
  • Serve as additional point of contact for Ambassadors



  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
  • Experience working with end-users of a technology to train and optimize their use of a system
  • Commitment to the Community College mission and student success
  • Experience maintaining business systems and technologies
  • Demonstrated analysis and report writing skills
  • Knowledge of establishing and maintaining effective and efficient business processes for student success
  • Knowledge of technology as it relates to student information systems
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including for student audiences in various mediums, such as mobile devices
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to learn systems quickly and effectively
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with ethnic, cultural, socially diverse populations and a multi-campus environment


  • Experience with DegreeWorks software
  • Bilingual Bicultural (Spanish and English)
  • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse, population in a Hispanic-Serving Institution
