Position Summary
Performs administrative functions for a clinic or medical office through knowledge of medical terminology and applications. Works in a variety of roles that combine both direct and indirect patient care duties. Serves patients by greeting and assisting with scheduling appointments; maintaining records, accounts and obtaining and verifying patient insurance eligibility to ensure timely and accurate payment of service. Processes patient arrivals to adhere to scheduling timeframes and support office operations. May require referral processing.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/SkillsKnowledge normally acquired through a high school education; a minimum of one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a medical office, medical clinic, or in mental health office; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired QualificationsExperience in a Sports Medicine or Surgical clinic.
